Love your writing! Trying to keep my multi-tasking husband focused is quite a feat. He believes he’s more “productive” but I think I’ve finally convinced him it’s- well- just rude! And it honestly hurts my feelings when he’s continuously distracted by other things when we are having a conversation.

I’m being more aware, myself, of the times I’m not completely paying attention to what I’m doing or someone else is saying. Eye opening for sure.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I love reading your work here :)

I have long been a creature of habit and routine. If the order of my morning gets messed up I am all sorts of out of wack. I hadn't thought of it in a mindfulness sense mostly because I don't know much at all about mindfulness. I do however know that any essay that quotes Monty Python is required reading. Thanks brother for all you do. Love the essays. Keep up the great work. Lola and I are heading out for our morning walk just as soon as I finish this cup of coffee.

Enjoy your walk sir. I sure appreciate your kind words.

Our routines become so essential to us as we age. As the boys in MP might say, “I’m not dead yet…feeling much betta” ☺️

I have to totally agree with you on that routine thing. Miss doing something in the order you normally do it will tend to screw up an entire day. Everything gets out of sync and actually does feel rushed. Slowing down and regrouping is the key to regaining focus.

Your new phrase to replace mindfulness is spot on and I want to adopt it! "Minding my business of the moment" -- now that's a good way to do the day.

I enjoy your posts, Dee. I like your "tell it like it is" style and I always learn something from you. So, thanks.
